On export of non-basmati rice CHANDIGARH: The Member of Parliament from Rohtak, Deepender Singh Hooda, has thanked UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and the Central Government for lifting the ban on export of non-basmati rice. In a statement here, Mr. Hooda said this decision would benefit the paddy growers to a great extent. He said purchase of paddy had started in the markets and the farmers were also getting remunerative prices for their produce. Haryana Chief Parliamentary Secretary Dharambir Singh and MLA Nirmal Singh have thanked Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda for his fruitful efforts to get the ban lifted on the export of non-basmati rice by meeting the Prime Minister and other Central Ministers.
