Krishnagiri: Minister for Environment and Sports T.P.M Mohideen Khan inaugurated the fourth phase of distribution of monthly dole to the unemployed at Uthangarai on Friday.
Security scheme
The Minister also launched a short-term training programme for youth covered under the scheme and distributed Rs.62 lakh as welfare assistance to 7,262 beneficiaries. Of this, an amount of Rs.39.90 lakh was distributed as monthly dole to 7,153 unemployed persons and Rs.1.13 lakh as assistance under the Tamil Nadu Agricultural Labourers Farmers Social Security Scheme to 16 beneficiaries in Uthangarai taluk.
The Minister also distributed Rs.18.40 lakh under the Social Security scheme to 67 beneficiaries and Rs.51,000 as welfare assistance to 21 persons under various welfare boards.
MP E.G. Sugavanam, MLAs T. Senguttuvan, P. Dilli Babu, Collector Santhosh Babu, District Revenue Officer V. Mohanraj also spoke.
