Railway Minister Lalu Prasad waving to crowd as he canvasses support for RJD’s proposed ‘Chetavani Rally’, in Patna on Friday. Patna: Justifying its proposed Chetawani Rally to highlight the alleged failures of Bihar government, RJD on Friday said the rally was being held for “chargesheeting” the State Government for “doing nothing for the State”. “The NDA Government has hoodwinked and cheated the people. The State Government is on a promise-making spree but has failed to live up to the people’s expectations,” State RJD Chief Abdul Bari Siddiqui said here. The biggest failure of the State Government, he said, was on its poll promise of giving “good governance and establishing rule of law”. “Even the NDA has failed to fulfil its promise of attracting investment in Bihar,” he said, adding all these things would figure in the chargesheet. Mr. Siddiqui said Chief Minister Nitish Kumar went on a “pleasure trip” to Mauritius at a time when the floods hit the State. “It has proved that the State administration is insensitive towards the plight of people during floods.” Dubbing the present rule as “maha jungle raj”, the RJD leader said: “complete anarchy and chaos have gripped the State with criminals ruling the roost”. Mr. Siddiqui said the RJD wanted to put Mr. Kumar on the dock for allegedly failing to utilise central funds allotted under various schemes. His party , he said, would make an open charge that Kumar was trying to befool the people of Bihar by rechristening central schemes as state schemes. Ruling JD(U) spokesman Shivanand Tiwari questioned the rationale behind holding the rally by RJD and alleged that Lalu Prasad was “furious” over the State Government taking all-possible steps for ensuring all-round growth of the State. -- PTI
