Brick kiln owner shot dead

CUTTACK: A brick kiln owner was allegedly shot dead by two unidentified persons in Cuttack rural areas on Friday morning. Police said two persons intercepted Arun Bhatta (35) of Bhanpur area under Cuttack Sadar police station around 10 a.m while the former was going to his kiln on his motorcycle.

The unidentified persons first hurled bombs at Bhatta but when he escaped unhurt, the assailants then fired two rounds at him and fled from the spot. He died on way to hospital.
