RTI Act: fine for wrong information

MALAPPURAM: Chief Information Commissioner Palat Mohandas said here on Friday that those giving wrong information to the Commission under the Right to Information Act would be liable be pay fine of up to Rs. 25,000.

He was presiding over a sitting of the Full Bench of the Information Commission here on Friday. Mr. Mohandas said the Commission had got 11,624 complaints. However, only 1,000-odd complaints had been settled so far.
