Police official caught

BANGALORE: The Bijapur Lokayukta police trapped the Deputy Superintendent of Police of Basavana Bagewadi while he was allegedly accepting bribe of Rs. 20,000 for removing some names from a rioting case.
According to Additional Director General of Police (Lokayukta) R.K. Datta, Mahadevappa Kenchappa Hirekurabar, approached the police official Bhimappa Y. Bellubbi to state about the innocence of three women who were named as accused in the rioting case.
Of the three women, one was aged 60.
Mr. Bellubbi demanded Rs. 20,000 to remove the names of the three women from the charge sheet, which was slated to be filed before a magistrate.
