VISAKHAPATNAM: The CPI (Maoist) has killed another Girijan in the agency area taking the number of killings in the last one month to four.
Poiba Sreenu (35) of Vanchurba village in G. Madugula mandal was taken away from his house by a group of naxalites on Thursday night. He was killed in a forest area by cutting his neck with an axe. The body was dumped near Rachaveedhi in Pedabayalu mandal. The naxalites left a note stating he was killed for helping the police.
The murders in the last four weeks is suspected to be the work of a group of Girijans brought by the CPI (Maoist) from Chattisgarh three months ago after it failed to recruit Girijans in agency area on the scale it expected.
