BANGALORE: “Whatever has happened is for the good of the party…,” this is how Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Minister Ramachandra Gowda on Friday remarked to the episode of the Janata Dal (Secular) failing to transfer power to the BJP in the State. Participating in jayanthotsava celebrations of saint Valmiki organised by the ST Morcha of the BJP in Bangalore, Mr. Ramachandra Gowda said the BJP would have been at the mercy of the Janata Dal (Secular) if power transfer had taken place. “They would have pulled the strings depending upon their convenience,” he said. Mr. Gowda ruled out any realignment with the Janata Dal (Secular). People’s courtHe wanted the matter regarding failure to transfer power to be decided at the people’s court. Mr.Gowda said: “People have to pass their judgment on the issue.” He noted that those who break promises cannot survive in public life for a long time. He expressed concern that political values were fast deteriorating of late. But, even amidst such a deterioration of political values, the BJP had given importance to nationality, he claimed. He hailed Valmiki for authoring the epic Ramayana. BJP Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike unit ST Morcha President R. Gopalakrishna and former MLC D. M. Saali were present on the occasion.
