BJP: reject Sachar report
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP State president P.K. Krishnadas said here on Friday that the move to carry out the recommendations of the Sachar committee and implement reservation based on religion would cause communal strife.
Addressing a press conference here, the BJP leader said the CPI (M) was resorting to communal appeasement with the Parliament elections in view. Religion-based reservation went against the views of the founders of the Constitution and would cause a situation similar to that at the time of partition.
Mr. Krishnadas expressed doubts over the ‘backwardness’ of Muslims in the State.
