China sees complications

BEIJING: China said on Friday the sanctions can only make the Iranian nuclear issue complicated.

“When the international community and Iran are devoted to resolving the Iranian nuclear issue through dialogues, it can only make the issue complicated to impose new sanctions on Iran,” said Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Jianchao. He denied a Russian report that China would sell fighter jets to Iran, saying no talks were conducted between the two nations.

“The report is false and irresponsible,” Mr. Liu said to a report by a Russian news agency that China had signed a deal to sell jets and fighters in the next two years. — Xinhua
