Big win for Minerva

Bangalore: Minerva CC defeated Gandhinagar Cricketers by 161 runs in a KSCA Metro Shield league match here recently. Minerva posted 371 for five in 39 overs, inclusive of 90 penalty runs as Gandhinagar Cricketers bowled nine overs short.

Vineeth Kumar’s 98 and Pradeep’s 74 also guided Minerva CC past the 300-mark.

In reply, Gandhinagar Cricketers mustered 210 in 38 overs.

Minerva CC 371 for five in 39 overs (90 runs penalty - 9 overs short) (Vineeth Kumar 98, Pradeep 74) bt Gandhinagar Cricketers 210 in 38 overs (P.V. Ashwin 104, Raman six for 78).

National United CC 139 for nine in 33 overs (Ashok four for 30) lost to Anekal Town CC 143 for three in 16 overs (Yeshwanth 50, Jayashankar 48 n.o.).

Southern Cricketers 267 for seven in 40 overs (M.C. Chetan 114, Amar Prasad 48, R. Manohar 44) drew with Indiranagar Cricketers 62 for four in 8.3 overs (R. Manohar four for 26).

New National CC 160 in 30.4 overs (Syed Wasiq 50) bt Star Cricketers XI 128 in 35.3 overs (Syed Nasheed four for 25).

IISC Gymkhana 183 for eight in 30 overs (Aravindam 74) lost to Friends Cricket Team 187 for six in 30 overs (Sagar Naganoor 93 n.o.).

Cavaliers CC 246 in 44.1 overs (Anand 59, Roshan 46, Nagendra four for 100) bt Garfield CC 156 for nine in 40.2 overs (Surendranath four for 38).

Hoskote CC 148 in 38 overs (Shashikumar 60, Sarfaraz five for 28) drew with Crescent CC (2) 32 for two in 12 overs.

Football matches cancelled

The State super-division and ‘A’ division league football matches scheduled for Friday and Saturday were cancelled due to poor condition of the Bangalore Football Stadium following incessant rains.

ASISC basketball

The De Paul International Residential School, Mysore, will conduct the XI ASISC junior and senior (boys & girls) basketball championship on October 27 and 28 at the DPIRS Complex, Mysore.
