Owners of roadside stalls stage protest

Sirsi: Owners of roadside stalls, under the leadership of different political parties, protested against the move by the district administration to remove their stalls.

Six hundred owners shut their stalls in Sirsi till noon. They took out a procession from Kharjagi Kalyanmanta through the main streets of the town.

Later, they submitted a memorandum to the Assistant Commissioner of Sirsi.

The leaders urged the district administration not to conduct such drives, particularly when the State was under President’s Rule.

Such drives could lead to a loss of livelihood for over 500 families.

Deepak Honnavar, Rajesh Shetty, Ravindranath Naik and others led the procession.
