Homage paid to Komaram Bheem

Staff Reporter

ADILABAD: Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) president K. Chandrasekhara Rao led a cavalcade of cars and motorcycles from Utnoor to Jodeghat in Kerameri mandal to pay homage to legendary Gond martyr Komaram Bheem on his 67th martyrdom anniversary on Friday.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State president Bandaru Dattatreya, CPI (M) MLA Sunna Rajaiah, Jadcherla MLA Laxma Reddy and balladeer Gaddar formed part of an impressive list of people who paid homage and participated in the event.

The TRS chief halted for the night at Utnoor after addressing a ‘praja sadassu’ at Nirmal on Thursday.

Mr. Bandaru Dattatreya had arrived on Friday and proceeded towards the remote venue.

Gaddar arrived at the venue in the morning and could attend the rites performed by the descendants of Komaram Bheem as they paid homage to their illustrious ancestor. He sang a song in praise of the Gond leader who fought against the Nizam of Hyderabad.
