Rebate on power bills to continue
Special Correspondent
JAIPUR: The Rajasthan Government on Friday decided to continue the 10 per cent rebate in electricity bills in villages where round-the-clock power supply is yet to be ensured following the implementation of the feeder reform programme.
The State Government had received complaints that the rebate on electricity bills had been withdrawn in villages where power was not being supplied for full 24 hours in a day.
However, the domestic power supply period had increased considerably in these villages.
Instructions have been issued to the three power distribution companies not to withdraw the 10 per cent rebate unless the 24-hour power supply is ensured in the villages.
The Chairman and Managing Director of Jaipur Vidyut Vitaran Nigam, R. G. Gupta, said here that certificates would be obtained from the local Assistant Engineers to confirm that a 15 per cent decline had been registered in the transmission and distribution losses and power was being supplied round-the-clock to the villages attached to feeders.
