“CPI (M) will consider alliance with parties backing its policies”

Staff Reporter

N. Varadarajan

DINDIGUL: The Communists Party of India (Marxist) will not hesitate to consider alliance with parties that support its economic and political policies, N. Varadarajan, State general secretary of the party, has said.

Talking to reporters here on Friday, he said there were no permanent well-wishers or enemies in politics. “We are against communalism and the nuclear deal. When parties agree to support our stand, we accept them.”

The AIADMK failed to focus problems of people and did not fight to solve people’s problems. Now it had started staging demonstrations on certain issues. “We will continuously observe its activities,” he said.

Asked whether the CPI (M) would object to the inclusion of the AIADMK in the third front in future, Mr. Varadarajan said his party would not frame any rules for the third front.

Commenting on remarks of the alliance by PMK leader Ramadoss, he said it was premature to discuss it now. “We have a long way to go.”
