HYDERABAD: Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu is leaving for New Delhi tomorrow to take up the issue of minimum support price for paddy with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh finally granting appointment. At a press conference, Leader of TDP in Rajya Sabha R. Chandrasekhar Reddy refuted the Congress charge and said that the party had indeed sought formal appointment with Dr. Singh by writing to him on October 10. “We feel pity for Dr. Singh as he is unable to take any decision on his own, bogged down as it were in nuclear deal,” he said. Even now TDP is prepared to join the all-party delegation, if the Government wants to take it. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy will meet the Prime Minister on November 2 seeking an MSP of over Rs. 1,000 a quintal for paddy. It was evident that Dr. Reddy will not lead an all-party delegation after he held discussions with Agriculture Minister N. Raghuveera Reddy . Official sources said the Dr. Reddy would cite recommendation of the Swaminathan Committee while seeking a higher MSP for paddy.
