Amit for Asian meet

Amit Sanghi has been selected to represent India in the Asian clay shooting championship to be held in Philippines from October 29 to 31 after good performances in the selection trials in Delhi.

The Hyderabad-based shooter recorded scores of 118 and 115 in the two trials in the skeet event.

Amit Sanghi happens to be the only shooter from the State to get this honour. Considering that he returned to the competitive circuit after a year’s break, this achievement has been lauded by the experts.

They hope that he would use this clay championship as a platform for the more important Asian championships to be held in Kuwait in December which is again a qualifying event for the Beijing Olympics.

City players selected

M. Nagaraj, Veer Singh and Md. Javed of Sports Authority of India (STC, Secunderabad) will represent the All-India SAI XI in the all-India senior Nehru hockey championship in Delhi, senior all-India K.D. Singh Babu memorial tournament in Lucknow and the Senior national championship.
