Clearing the air: Municipal Commissioner Siddhartha Jain explaining provisions of new G.O. on amended building plan approval regulations in Guntur on Friday. GUNTUR: Guntur Municipal Corporation will bring out a booklet consisting of Standard Building Application Format, containing the entire gamut of information relating to revised rules, Municipal Commissioner Siddhartha Jain said on Friday. The mini booklet along with an application form was being brought by Town Planning section and would be circulated shortly, he said addressing various builders, representatives of ratepayers, engineers and surveyors associations at an interactive meet on the implementation of revised building regulations under G.O. Ms. No 678. The Commissioner asked the builders to desist from deviating from their commitments made to customers relating to providing the requisite Floor Space Index, facilities of drinking water, separate outlets for drainage and sewerage. Parking facilitiesHe also asked them to abide by the norms of the National Building Code and all the fire safety norms prescribed by the Fire Services Department. "Commercial ventures should have adequate parking facilities as the volume of traffic has been increasing by 25 per cent every year," he said. Builders Association president Siva Reddy sought clarification on payment of betterment charges to the Urban Development Authority, while seeking the final approval from the municipal corporation. While appreciating the simplicity of rules under the new G.O, he expressed concern over the higher licence fee. He also urged the municipal authorities to clear the pending files related to approval of building plans. Town Planning Department Deputy City Planner Chakrapani said that meeting was organised to provide an understanding about the revised building norms and to dispel the fears among the builders.
