Pollution Control Board warns hoteliers
Special Correspondent
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Pollution Control Board has warned hoteliers against disposing of their waste in the open and said that such behaviour will invite strong action under the pollution control laws.
The board issued the warning on Friday, in the context of a recent incident involving a hotel at Kovalam that prepared a mammoth sandwich ‘fit to enter the Guinness Book of Records’ and disposed it of the next day by the roadside.
The board has initiated proceedings against the hotel under the relevant laws. It has also directed its district officers to launch a crackdown against similar offences by hoteliers.
