President to arrive on October 31
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: President Pratibha Patil will arrive here on Wednesday evening on a three-day visit to the State. She will be given a civic reception at the Central Stadium at 10 a.m. on November 1, Kerala Formation Day. She will perform the State- level inauguration of three prestigious programmes at the same venue after the reception. They include an action plan for waste-free Kerala and a scholarship scheme for higher secondary students. The President will return to Delhi on November 2.
A committee chaired by Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan and consisting of Ministers, people’s representatives and officials has been constituted to oversee arrangements for the reception of the President.
