Public meeting held at Perumallapuram Road show conducted in SEZ-hit villages Kakinada: Telugu Desam Parliamentary Party leader K Yerrannaidu has demanded Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy to issue a white paper on SEZs furnishing the information such as how many lakhs of acres was acquired for the SEZs and the industries that have come up besides the employment provided to locals in them. Addressing a public meeting at Perumallapuram 35 km from here on Saturday night after conducting a road show along the route in SEZ affected villages, he lashed out at the Government for indiscriminate and forcible acquisition of fertile agricultural lands setting aside the guidelines. Terming the SEZs as special exploitation zones, he alleged that the Chief Minister was interested in kickbacks from the SEZ promoters but not the welfare of the ryots. Ridiculing the Chief Minister for openly violating party leader Sonia Gandhi’s advice and acquiring vast extent of agricultural lands to the SEZ promoters, Mr Naidu said if Mrs Gandhi happens to visit the area she would summarily dismiss him for the lapse. TDP polit bureau member Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, warned that in any circumstances either taking possession of the lands or evacuating the villagers would not be tolerated. TDP leaders Vanga Gita Viswanath, Chikkala Ramachandrarao, M. Satyanarayana also spoke.
