BJP blames it on political anarchy

Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday blamed “political anarchy” in Jharkhand for the government’s failure to prevent Friday night’s naxal attack at Chikhadia village.

The party expressed its shock at the killing of several innocent men and women, including Anup Marandi, son of the former BJP Chief Minister Babulal Marandi.

Party spokesman Rajiv Pratap Rudy said “total anarchy” had prevailed in the State ever since a government, headed by an independent Madhu Koda, was installed with the support of some UPA partners. The Centre’s “soft policies” towards naxals resulted in a sharp increase in their penetration of some 150 districts across the country, Mr. Rudy said.

“Personal agenda”

A government led by an independent with more independent MLAs in the Cabinet, and supported by UPA parties from outside, made a mockery of governance. The agenda of the government was dictated by the “personal agenda” of its ministers, the BJP alleged.

Party president Rajnath Singh spoke to Mr. Marandi and conveyed to him his grief over the killing of the latter’s son. Some senior party leaders rushed to the spot of massacre, Mr. Rudy said.
