Infosys reorganises business

Special Correspondent

Enhanced focus on growth markets

BANGALORE: Infosys Technologies has reorganised its business units, “anticipating changes in the global IT industry”, effective November 2007.

Following the realignment, there will be six vertical business units and five horizontal business units, ranging from retail products to infrastructure management services, a release said. The company’s European business has also been divided into industry verticals, to be integrated with the proposed business units.

One outcome will be enhanced focus on growth markets such as Australia, China, Japan, West Asia, Canada and Latin America. The senior management team of Infosys has also been broadened, with an executive council chaired by the CEO and consisting of the COO, CFO, executive board members and select unit heads.

Infosys CEO and Managing Director, Kris Gopalakrishnan, said, “Today we are on the verge of becoming a $4 billion organisation and expect the changes will enable us compete better in the global markets.”
