Pasha scores match-winner

HYDERABAD: Accountant General (AP) scored a solitary goal win over Hyderabad Globe in the SAAP premier league prize money football tournament at the Gymkhana here on Saturday.

The match-winner came through winger Pasha, who headed a perfect cross from David Prasanna in the third minute.

In another match, State Bank of Hyderabad and EME Centre were locked in a goalless draw.

Meridian posts win

Meridian School recorded a lone goal win over Geetanjali High School in the fourth Dr. John de Souza inter-school football tournament at Bowenpally here.

The all-important goal came through Vivek in the eighth minute.

In another match, St. Andrews HS also scored a 1-0 win over St. Patrick’s HS with Joshna scoring.

St. Joseph’s School (Trimulgherry) and Model Mission HS were locked in a goalless draw.

Red Hills PG wins

Red Hills Playground scored a 4-3 win over Republic Boys Club in the GHMC open hockey tournament here.

For the winners, Ashwin, Sadanand, Venu and Lohit scored, while Manju netted a brace and Nagraj once for the loser.

In another match, SAI recorded a 3-1 win over AC Guards with Mahender (2) and Sravan Kumar (1) being the scorers, while Sheikh Shareefuddin reduced the margin.

Rahul advances

Y. Rahul scored a 6-1 win over Prayag Rao in the boys’ under-12 pre-quarterfinals of the Twin Cities Tennis Academy mini-junior tennis tournament at Sanjeeviah Park here.

Albert cracks century

Albert Simon cracked 117 (16x4, 2x6) to help Loyola Academy Junior College score a 188-run win over Sultan-ul-Uloom Junior College in the Boost Cup under-17 cricket tournament here.

Loyola Academy 297 (Albert Simon 117, Ramakanth 32, Sai Charan 49, Ahmed four for 43) bt Sultan-ul-Uloom 109 (Srimanth three for 44).

Chess tournament

YMCA (Narayanaguda) will organise the 15th annual Tatipally Gopalakrishna prize money open chess tournament with prize money of Rs. 15,000.

Volleyball tournaments

The Andhra Pradesh senior inter-district volleyball championship for men and women will be held in Nalgonda from November 10 to 14.

Teams from all the districts will participate as the event would be a selection tournament to pick the State teams for the senior Nationals in Jaipur in December.

Elsewhere, the Sheikhpet Playground Association will organise inter-school and playgrounds volleyball tournament for boys’ (under-16) from November 5 under the aegis of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation and the Hyderabad District Volleyball Association. Qualifiers spotted

Qualifiers for the knock-out phase to be held from Monday in the APSAACS Cup floodlit cricket tournament have been identified.
