Palakkad scores win

Shasthamcotta: Palakkad and Thiruvananthapuram recorded wins in the State inter-district junior women’s cricket tournament at the DB College ground here on Saturday.

Thiruvananthapuram crushed Ernakulam by 173 runs while Palakkad scored a six-wicket win over Malappuram.

The scores: Thiruvananthapuram 227 for three in 30 overs (Asha 78, Rakhi 39) bt Ernakulam 54 in 13.3 overs; Malappuram 47 for eight in 20 overs lost to Palakkad 48 for four in 13 overs.
