Big win for LM S

Udhagamandalam: M. Vishnu Vardhan picked four for 18 in Laidlaw Memorial School’s 199-run win over St. Joseph’s (Ooty) in the NDCA under-17 inter-school cricket tournament for Azhar Hassan Memorial Trophy on Saturday.

The scores:

U-17: Laidlaw Memorial 240 for eight in 40 overs (K. Suraj 40, Gaurav Ganapathy 45) bt St. Joseph’s 41 (M. Vishnu Vardhan four for 18).

U-13: Stanes 90 for nine in 25 overs bt Lawrence 91 for three in 15.1 overs (P. Aditya 42 not out).

YMCA advances

Defending champion YMCA Higher Secondary School, Chennai entered the semifinal round robin league of the fifth annual SMB Trophy State-level inter-school football tournament defeating Government HSS, Nilakottai 3-0 at Dindigul on Saturday.

Michael, Ranjithkumar and Darshan scored.

NLC Boys HSS, Neyveli also entered the league edging past MSP Solai Nadar HSS, Dindigul 2-1.

Venkatesan scored both the goals for NLC School. Antony netted for Dindigul School.
