U.P. power staff put off strike

Lucknow: The proposed strike by power employees was on Saturday postponed after the State power department announced to form a committee over the privatisation of Anapara C power plant. However, the union leaders threatened to resume the protest if the government continues with the privatisation drive. The decision came after a meeting between Energy Minister Ramvir Upadhyay and leaders of Vidyut Karmchari Sanyukt Sangharsh Samiti, Principal Secretary Energy V N Garg and Chairman State Power Corporation G B Patnaik told media here.
