JAIPUR: Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has approved a Wide Area Network (WAN) scheme to connect the district and tehsil headquarters across Rajasthan with Internet for rendering public utility services. Addressing a review meeting of the State Information Technology Department here, Ms. Raje said the WAN would facilitate prompt delivery of information and services in agriculture, revenue, pension and rural development to the citizens at large and help achieve the target of developing e-villages. Future e-districtsThe Chief Minister said Jaipur and Kota had been identified as the future e-districts, where the activities of all Government departments would be fully computerised. The public distribution system, tourism, urban development, health care services and jails will be the spheres which will be getting the highest priority in e-governance. Ms. Raje said a special programme on Information Technology would be presented in the “Resurgent Rajasthan” event to be organised here on December 1 to publicise the State Government’s achievements.
