Held on extortion charge

BERHAMPUR: The city police arrested three persons, including a retired government servant, on the charge of extorting money from traders in the name of naxals.

A special squad of Berhampur police nabbed them while they were allegedly trying to collect ransom from a trader on Friday. The arrested persons were identified as Trinath Nayak (62), Gandharva Pradhan (20) and Bichitra Kumar Nayak (30). All of them were residents of Hansapur village.
