House burgled

Gold jewellery weighing over four sovereigns and Rs.5,000 cash were reported stolen from the house of an engineer in Karumandapam area when the inmates were away recently. The crime came to light after the house owner Selvyn Harish returned in the early hours of Saturday.

Police sources said Harish along with his family went to Madurai on Thursday evening. The culprits gained entry into the house by breaking open the front door lock and stole the valuables. Based on a complaint, the Cantonment police have booked a case.
