HYDERABAD: The Congress Legislature Party has advised the Telugu Desam Party leaders to respect political values and desist from indulging in mudslinging.
Taking exception to a spate of critical remarks including certain personal allegations against leaders in public life, the Government Chief Whip N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and the Council Chief Whip Bharati Ragya Naik said it was unbecoming of the TDP leaders to run down rivals. “How far is it justified, when the TDP leaders repeatedly try to resort to levelling personal allegations on leaders of other political parties,” Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy said. He objected the language used by the TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu against the AICC general secretary Veerappa Moily during the latter’s three-day visit to the State.
“It is unbecoming of a responsible leader of an Opposition party to say that Mr. Moily had come to the State as he has no other work,” Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy said.
He regretted that Mr. Naidu had failed to recognise the stature of Mr. Moily, who was a former Chief Minister.
