Criticises Centre for case against Mulayam

“Congress cannot tolerate any opposition”

NEW DELHI: United National Progressive Alliance convener and Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday criticised the Centre for pursuing the disproportionate assets case against former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh.

Talking to mediapersons here during his brief visit to the capital, Mr. Naidu described it as nothing more than “political victimisation and harassment”’ since, Mr. Mulayam Singh had recently become chairman of the United National Progressive Alliance which was fast developing into a rallying point for anti-Congress and anti-Bharatiya Janata Party forces. “The Congress cannot tolerate any opposition and this is the way it always treats its political opponents. This is nothing but political vendetta,” Mr. Naidu said; adding that the Congress was presiding over the most corrupt administration that Andhra Pradesh has ever seen.
