NEW DELHI: The traffic police have imposed certain restrictions on vehicular movement in various parts of the Capital on Sunday in view of the “Janadesh-2007” rally and the Delhi Half Marathon. Nearly 25,000 villagers from 15 States who have arrived here on foot from Gwalior demanding land reforms will march from Madanpur Khadar in Badarpur to Ramlila Ground on Sunday via Ashram Chowk, Neela Gumbad, Oberoi Hotel, India Gate, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Marg, Mata Sundari College and Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg. The western carriageway of Mathura Road will remain blocked from 7 a.m. The Mehrauli-Badarpur road and Ring Road will, however, remain open to traffic. In view of the Half Marathon that will begin around 7 a.m., commuters have been advised to avoid Vinay Marg, Africa Avenue and Brig. Hoshiyar Singh Marg between 6-30 a.m. and 11-45 a.m.; Aurobindo Marg and Prithviraj Road from 6-45 a.m. to 10-15 a.m.; Man Singh Road and Akbar Road from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.; ‘C’ Hexagon and Rajpath from 7 a.m. to 9-45 a.m.; and Janpath and Windsor Place from 7 a.m. to 9-30 a.m. No traffic will be permitted on Safdarjung Road-Lodhi Road towards Aurobindo Marg, on Rajesh Pilot Road-Subrahmania Bharti Marg towards Prithviraj Road, and on Akbar Road between Man Singh Road roundabout and ‘C’ Hexagon. Shahjahan Road will remain open to those coming to the U.P.S.C. Hall for examinations.
