Water supply disruption

Kochi: Water supply to most areas in the city were affected on Saturday because of Friday evening’s pipeline bursts at Pullepady and on Kaloor-Kadavanthra Road. Kerala Water Authority officials attached to the Thammanam office said that 700-mm pipelines that brought water to the city from Aluva burst in both the incidents. The primo pipes were decades old. “ Rain has hampered the reinstallation of the pipeline. We expect that it will be ready by 2 a.m. on Sunday. Pumping will resume by Sunday morning,” they said.
