Prema Karanth still critical

BANGALORE: The condition of Prema Karanth, well-known film-maker and theatre person, continued to be critical on Saturday.

According to the president of the Karnataka Nataka Academy, Srinivas G. Kappanna, Ms. Karanth had slipped into coma and both her kidneys had failed. “She is on the ventilator for the last three days and the doctors attending her will decide on whether to take her off the ventilator on Sunday,” Mr. Kappanna said.

Meanwhile, responding to a request from the Nataka Academy, the State Government has released Rs. 90,000 for her treatment.
