Bijoy Kumar Sahu, Vice-Chancellor of Berhampur University, speaking at the valedictory of NSS camp for girls at Sunabeda on Sunday. KORAPUT: NSS volunteers need to visit villages and adopt them for their total development, said Bijay Kumar Sahu, Vice-Chancellor of Berhampur University. He was speaking as chief guest at the valedictory ceremony of the 10-day “Inter College NSS Camp for Girls” which was organised on the premises of Sunabeda Women’s College on Sunday. While appreciating the successful completion of the camp, he said such camps would have greater meaning if organised in the remote tribal villages rather than in the heart of towns. Highlighting the financial support that the Government was ready to spare against social development issues, he urged the organisers to go for theme-based camps in future. Speaking on the occasion he said the university was preparing for bringing a sea change in its administrative mechanism. Very soon students would be able to get university examination results through internet, he added. He appreciated the manner in which HAL administration had been managing the Aeronautics College at Sunabeda in creating a model educational institution in the region. Jahnsi Singh, NSS Coordiantor, from the university also spoke.
