RAMANATHAPURAM: All schools in the district will remain closed on Tuesday in view of the Muthuramalinga Thevar guru puja, according to the Collector, R. Kirlosh Kumar. He said colleges and hostels in Kamudhi area would not function till October 30. Similarly, all liquor shops would also be closed till the end of guru puja. Elaborate arrangements had been made for the visit of Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi to Pasumpon and Thevar guru puja. Besides placing a wreath on the samadhi of Thevar, he would attend a public function arranged as part of the Thevar centenary. Mr. Kumar said that a control room with two numbers would be set up at Pasumpon. Traffic diversion schemes had already been announced. Roof top travel would not be allowed. Special check posts would be set up at various places in the district.
