Fusion food at sizzler festival

Special Correspondent

To introduce ‘infused combos’ of Indian, Chinese, Continental dishes

CHANDIGARH: With the festival season already rocking the ‘City Beautiful’ and its satellite towns of Mohali and Panchkula, a local catering company that runs a restaurant, resort and disco, has hit upon a unique idea of introducing “infused combos” of moulding Indian, Chinese and Continental delicacies to tingle the taste buds of the food freaks.

This was announced by the Director of the company, Manish Bajaj, who launched the “Sizzlers festival” in his “Manor – 26”, which is a major landmark along Chandigarh’s main artery, the Madhya Marg. His Chefs have moulded a number of varieties to prepare, for the first time in the country, Indian delicacies as mouth watering ‘Sizzlers’.

Customers’ demand

Mr. Bajaj told journalists that the 15-day festival was designed following demands from customers and keeping in view Diwali, Christmas and the forthcoming India-Pakistan one day International cricket match. His existing team has been trained to prepare, present and explain the dishes to the customers.

Continental platter

Apart from the usual dishes, present on the continental platter would be the ‘Sizzling Butter Chicken’ where chicken is served with rice and assorted vegetables along with plentiful Chinese basket of vegetable and non-vegetable noodles made with chef’s special sauce.

‘Rahra Gosht sizzler’ would have minced mutton served with rice and vegetables, while the ‘Paneer Tikka Masala sizzler’ has been made from paneer chunks cooked in the tandoor and tossed chop masala.

Mr. Bajaj also said that his company would introduce the “Tricity’s” food lovers to sizzlers like Cheesy mushroom and rosemary scented stuffed chicken breast topped with pepper juice called ‘Peppered Chicken Steak’ and world famous Caribbean delicacy, the ‘Barbados Chicken Sizzler.”
