AI, AIE winter schedule from today

Three flights introduced from Thiruvananthapuram to Kuwait


Reduced fare for Thiruvananthapuram-Mumbai

More flights from Thiruvananthapuram to Kochi


Thiruvananthapuram: Introduction of three Air India (AI) flights from Thiruvananthapuram to Kuwait and weekly Air India Express (AIE) flight from Thiruvananthapuram to Mumbai at a reduced all-inclusive fare of Rs.1,899 on Tuesdays are the highlights of the winter schedule of AI and AIE that will come into effect from October 29.

Along with this, the AIE flights from Thiruvananthapuram to Kochi will be increased from five flights to nine flights a week. In the winter schedule, AI will be operating 17 weekly flights from Thiruvananthapuram and AIE will be operating 33 flights per week from Thiruvananthapuram International Airport. The AI flights from Thiruvananthapuram to Kuwait will be on Monday, Thursday and Saturday. These flights will be operated with Boeing 757 aircraft having a capacity of 216 seats.

AI Manager, Thiruvananthapuram, H.A. Munaff, in a release said AIE would introduce a new weekly once flight from Thiruvananthapuram to Mumbai on Tuesday at a reduced all-inclusive fare of Rs.1,899.

Even though the flights operated between Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Karipur are domestic extensions of international flights of AIE, passengers can travel on these domestic sectors within Kerala at an attractive fare of Rs.1,099 inclusive of all taxes.

Passengers travelling on the erstwhile Indian IC168 flight from Thiruvananthapuam to Mumbai or Delhi can avail of the through check in of baggage on AI flights as well as carriers with which the national carrier has code share arrangements in the following points.

IC168 that operates in Thiruvananthapuram/Mumbai sector daily will connect to New York, Zurich, Riyadh, Bangkok, Frankfurt, Tokyo Seoul, Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur. IC168 that operates in the Thiruvananthapuram/Delhi sector daily will connect to Tokyo, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, Hong Kong and Bangkok.

Mr. Munaff said the passengers need not have to take back the baggage and check in again to the onward destination at Mumbai or Delhi. The baggage is checked in at Thiruvananthapuram itself to the final destination and will automatically be transferred to the connecting flight to Mumbai or Delhi.

The flights to be operated by AI from Thiruvananthapuram during the winter schedule are: Thiruvananthapuram/Dubai- (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday); Thiruvananthapuram /Dammam (Tuesday); Thiruvananthapuram/Riyadh (Wednesday, Friday); Thiruvananthapuram/Kuwait (Monday, Thursday, Saturday); Thiruvananthapuram/Mumbai (Monday, Wednesday); Thiruvananthapuram/Kozhikode (Wednesday-2 flights, Thursday, Friday, Saturday) and Thiruvananthapuram/Kochi (Friday).

AIE flights from Thiruvananthapuram during the period will be as follows: Thiruvananthapuram/Abu Dhabi- All seven days; Thiruvananthapuram /Dubai (Monday, Friday and Sunday); Thiruvananthapuram/Sharjah (Monday, Thursday, Saturday); Thiruvananthapuram/Bahrain/Doha (Monday); Thiruvananthapuram/ Kozhikode (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday); Thiruvananthapuram/Kochi (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday-two flights, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday-two flights) and Thiruvananthapuram/Mumbai flight on Tuesday.
