Another technology park

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: The city has a new software technology park. Within walking distance of the Vidhana Soudha, the Safina Towers Software Technology Park has emerged as a potential technology hub. This multi-storeyed structure stands on a 2.5 acre plot of land near the Millers Road-Ali Asker Road intersection.

Look closer and you realise the engineers have used only 35 per cent of the land area to build 1.75 lakh sq ft of built-up area. The remaining land has been landscaped with planned, manicured lawns, colourful fountains and a long driveway. Designed by architects Thomas Associates and built by Shapoorji Pallonji, the building is equipped with fireproof alcopolic sheets and glasses that prevent filtering of ultraviolet rays into the building. The equipment is made by Mitsubhishi of Japan and Glaverbel of Belgium.

Safina Towers has been recognised as a Software Technology Park by the Union Government.
