Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has directed the Home department and the police to act tough against the culprits behind the incident of torching of a passenger bus in lower Assam’s Dhubri district late on Friday night during the ongoing 300-hour road blockade called by All Koch-Rajbangshi Students’ Union. Government spokesman and Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma told reporters here on Sunday that the Chief Minister, who was away in Delhi, spoke to Director General of Police and Principal Secretary, Home, over phone and directed them to take “very strong action” against those involved in setting ablaze the bus with 59 passengers on board. Three passengers sustained burns, while others who jumped out sustained injuries.
