Tavishi in last eight

NEW DELHI: Tavishi Sanghi defeated Suchika Vikram 21-19, 21-17 for a place in the girls’ under-10 quarterfinals of the Rs. 500,000 second Pramod Mahajan memorial Delhi State-ranking badminton tournament at the Siri Fort Sports Complex here on Sunday.

The results: Women (pre-quarterfinals): Mohita Sahdev bt Kirti 21-10, 21-11; Gauri Chopra bt Akanksha Thakur 21-3, 21-5.

Boys: Under-16 (first round): Ashish Sharma bt Paritosh 21-10, 21-13; Aakash Narang bt Swapan 21-15, 21-4; Varun Jain bt Aditya Sharma 21-10, 21-15.

Under-13 (first round): Yash Nain bt Yash 21-12, 21-10; Ryan Rodrigues bt Tushar Kumar 21-18, 21-16.

Girls: Under-19 (second round): Priyanka Arya bt Vasundra Chugh 21-9, 21-4; Saloni Chopra bt Sanchi 21-5, 21-11; Shreya Aggarwal bt Shilpi Rana 21-17, 21-11.
