NEW DELHI: Mata Gujri Public School, Jalalabad, Ferozpur, defeated S. S. High School, Khunti, Jharkhand, 4-1 in a pool IV match of the 25th Nehru sub-junior boys’ hockey tournament at the Shivaji Stadium here on Sunday. Jaswinder Pal (2), Amardeep Singh and Love Anmol scored for the Ferozpur team while Vinod Horo and Nirdosh Horo reduced the margin. In another match of the same group, Malwa Khalsa Senior Secondary School, Nodal Gram, Ludhiana, overcame GRM senior Secondary School, Nangloi, 4-1. The winner scored through Satbir Singh (2), Tarandeep Singh and Kulbir Singh while Manish scored for the local outfit. In pool II, Birsamunda Vidyapeeth, Rourkela, beat NCC Directorate, Punjab, 4-1. David Minx (2), Joseph Toppo and James Munda scored for Birsamunda Vidyapeeth and Ravinder Singh for NCC.
