Thiruvananthapuram: A 26-year-old youth was arrested by the police for cheating patients at medical college hospital and private scanning centres here by posing as an employee of the hospital. Sub-Inspector of medical college police station J. K. Dinil identified the accused as Vinod, a resident of Vinod Bhavan, Palapooru, Kaliyoor. According to the police, investigations into the defrauding of Rs.3,500 from Radhakrishnan, a native of Anchal, by Vinod, who posed as a manager of a private scanning centre, led to the arrest. Modus operandiThe modus operandi of the accused was to befriend patients arriving at the hospital and scanning centres. He would later cheat them and escape with their money. A team led by Circle Inspector V. Suresh Kumar arrested the accused on Sunday from near the medical college.
