Clarion call: TRS president K. Chandrashekar Rao addressing a public meeting in Jangaon on Sunday. JANGAON (WARANGAL): TRS president K. Chandrasekhara Rao said people of Telangana are not innocent and are aware of the injustices and discrimination meted out to them by the Congress and TDP. Mr. Rao said the people would teach both the parties a lesson and urged the people to reject them. Earnestly appealing to the people, he wanted them to treat the movement as a serious one - launched to end the injustices being done for the past five decades. “Nowhere in the world has such discrimination taken place for so long. I am your man. Please strengthen my hands as I am fighting for our sons and their future,” he said. The TRS president also requested the leaders of Congress and TDP hailing from Telangana region to come out and join the struggle. “We are only asking for the rightful share of natural resources, employment and development. As there is no hope of getting them, we need to demand for separate Telangana,” he said, urging all the leaders to come out of their respective parties and take part in the task. Closure of PSUsMr. Rao went on relating the incidents such as closure of public sector undertakings of the regions to selling away of land and properties around the twin cities in the name of development. He said some people are trying to separate Hyderabad from Telangana which the people would not tolerate. It rightfully belongs to Telangana and one cannot imagine Telangana without Hyderabad, he said. Referring to the due share in water and employment, the TRS president said they would only be possible in separate statehood. On the ongoing controversy over the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of agricultural produce, Mr Rao demanded that the State Government ensure closure of big enterprises like Heritage Foods and Reliance Fresh to better the future of small-time traders and farmers in the State like what Mayawati did in Uttar Pradesh. Mr Rao addressed the well-attended public meeting for over 30 minutes and succeeded in getting applause from the public as he went on building his arguement in favour of separate Telangana.
