New Delhi: Iran produced a major splash in women’s football as it defeated India 4-1 in Tehran to qualify for the Asian Nations Cup to be held in Malaysia in March next year. Iran, which trailed 1-3 after the away leg in Gurgaon on October 20, turned the tables at home on Saturday to go through 5-4 on aggregate.
Iran will now make its debut in the Asian women’s football tournament in Kuala Lumpur in March 2008. — PTI
