ADILABAD: The TDP on Monday demanded immediate repairs to electronic weigh machines at the Adilabad agriculture market yard to stop exploitation of cotton farmers. Only one machine each for weighing of lorries and bullock carts are functional, which in turn is forcing farmers to get the produce weighed at private facilities, the party contended. At a press conference, Telugu Rythu district president B. Goverdhan Reddy also demanded the Cotton CCI to start purchase in all cotton purchase centres across the district. He also demanded a price of Rs. 2,400 per quintal of cotton. –Staff Reporter
