This Day That Age
Commander Allan Noble, British Minister of State, said in New York on October 28 that the Syrian complaint to the United Nations formed part of a “concerted propaganda campaign the origin and inspiration of which are in Moscow.” He was speaking in the resumed debate in the United Nations General Assembly. The blatancy of the campaign, Commander Noble said, had been equalled only by its violence. “The only recent parallel which comes to my mind is the attempt to persuade the world that events in Hungary just a year ago were the result of a plot inspired by the United States,” Commander Noble said. “It is not a coincidence that the authors of that discredited piece of horror fiction are the same as those who now try to persuade us that a similar plot has been laid against Syria.”
