Nitish alleges misuse of funds

K. Balchand

PATNA: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday demanded that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh convene a meeting of the National Development Council (NDC) to discuss ‘misuse’ of Central government resources by Railway Minister Lalu Prasad for his rally on Sunday.

Mr. Kumar alleged that Mr. Prasad used his special train to campaign for his rally which not only amounted to ‘misusing’ the railways but also impinged on the federal mechanism because the Union government’s resources were used against the State government.

Mr. Kumar, however, said the Rashtriya Janata Dal’s rally was a ‘flop show.’
