BDFA calls off ties

The ground conditions at the Football Stadium following incessant showers for the past few days have forced the Bangalore District Football Association to call of its ties for the next two days.

The issue was precipitated by an inconclusive contest on Monday.

The match between Postal FC and LRDE saw the former lead 2-0 with goals through Kabendran (25th minute) and Arun Pandey (76th).

Soon after LRDE concededanother goal.

The players then protested about the ground conditions and informed the referee Kabilan that they were unwilling to continue with the match due to “unplayable conditions.”

With the LRDE players walking off the field, the issue was referred to the tournament committee.

The committee announced that it would take decision on the match later, but notified that no further matches would be played at the stadium at least for the next two days.

Earlier, in the ‘A’ division, Government Press defeated Universal 4-1 while in the ‘C’ division, ISRO drew 2-2 with Bangalore Wanderers and MICO beat Minerva FC 4-2.
